Traveling Schoolhouse, Delivering Hope at Every Stop

At the heart of Fundación Taller de Anik lies an ambitious dream with a fundamental premise: to create a mobile workshop-school that brings access to diverse artistic and sports education experiences to numerous isolated communities far from urban centers.

In many of these territories, geographic isolation makes access to arts, culture, sports and other essential developmental activities difficult for children. That’s why we use a mobile house as both essential tool and symbol of movement – our approach centers on community-based traveling theater as a concrete way to integrate these communities into the nation’s cultural movement.

This little traveling school also carries with it performances full of emotions, colors, characters, situations and learning opportunities for those facing the greatest barriers to cultural experiences. The vehicle transports a trained human team along with sufficient scenery, materials and equipment to operate autonomously across different regions of the country, including border areas. The project aims to strengthen cultural exchange by creating spaces for dialogue and artistic expression in each community, building connections through pedagogical listening while encouraging participation and breaking down social barriers.

In its educational dimension, the project also includes workshops and discussion groups for ICBF community mothers, educators and early childhood families.

Our activities focus on strengthening pedagogical practices through these key approaches:

• Fostering open, sensitive listening that goes beyond hearing (Pedagogy of Listening)
• Recognizing and valuing the diverse languages, symbols and codes people and communities use to express themselves
• Providing technical arts and sports tools to strengthen local practices
• Creating comprehensive learning spaces that include peacebuilding through understanding and peaceful conflict resolution
• Building meaningful learning through experience and dialogue

FUNTANIK’s Mobile House represents our concrete commitment to democratizing access to culture and education in remote communities. With your support, we can go further and together transform lives. Your contribution moves art and education forward – with you, we’re traveling one kilometer at a time.
